Had another successful NHL Auction-Style draft over the weekend. Unlike a standard fantasy draft where you take turns selecting players you actually buy them with a set budget of virtual dollars (we use Monopoly money). Players are nominated, and bids are placed until no one is willing to bid higher. The draft continues until all rosters are filled without anyone exceeding their budget. You’ll notice my team absolutely rips, but it’s because I chose with my head over my heart, as there were many Oilers fans in attendance, so Oilers players seemed to be going for a much higher rate. For example, I got both Kucherov and MacKinnon for the price of McDavid. Pictured below are some of the rules, and how much everyone went for.
