We all know how great it is to be Canadian, right? Well, it looks like the secret is out, because people are flocking here! According to Statistics Canada, our population grew by around a quarter of a million people in just the last quarter—and Alberta is leading the pack as the fastest-growing province!

Now, you’d think people are moving here for the stunning Rocky Mountains, the fun attractions like West Edmonton Mall, or maybe even the (arguably) better hockey team. But no, it’s mostly because they can actually afford to live here.

Sure, those mountains are beautiful, and a day at Galaxyland sounds like a blast—but it’s pretty hard to enjoy those things when you’re just trying to cover rent. Let’s face it, nobody’s affording those lower bowl Oilers seats or a weekend in Banff when the budget is all about staying afloat.
