We’ve always known it, but a little extra vindication never hurts—Canadians are generous, possibly to a fault. We’re tied for first in the world when it comes to tipping. On average, we tip anywhere from 15-20% on anything from food to haircuts and even oil changes!

No wonder so many of us are trying to pinch pennies—we’re dropping all our loonies and toonies on everything else! It’s not that some people don’t deserve a tip, but it has to be for something I can’t do myself or for spending a lot of time with me. Installing an AC? Yeah, I can’t do that, here’s your tip! Waiting on my table and enduring my level of dad jokes so bad you wonder where the kids are? Boom, you get a tip just for that!
