It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Shifty Shellshock, the lead singer of the rock band Crazy Town. The news has sent shockwaves through the music community, leaving fans and fellow musicians paying tribute.

Shifty Shellshock, whose real name was Seth Brooks Binzer, was born on March 26, 1976, in Los Angeles, California. He rose to fame in the late 1990s as the lead vocalist and co-founder of Crazy Town, a rap-rock band known for their hit single “Butterfly.”

Throughout his career, Shifty Shellshock was known for his unique vocal style, which blended elements of hip-hop and rock music. His lyrics often explored themes of partying, relationships, and rebellion, resonating with a generation of young people looking for a new sound. He struggled with drug addiction throughout his life, and appeared in the reality television series Celebrity Rehab 1 and 2 and Sober House 1 and 2.

Crazy Town’s debut album, “The Gift of Game,” was released in 1999 and became a commercial success, thanks in large part to the popularity of “Butterfly.” The song’s catchy hooks and memorable chorus made it a staple of late-90s pop culture.

Over the years, Shifty Shellshock continued to release music with Crazy Town, experimenting with different styles and sounds. The band’s later work may not have achieved the same level of mainstream success as their debut album, but they maintained a loyal fan base and remained a beloved part of the alternative rock scene.

In recent years, Shifty Shellshock had been open about his struggles with addiction and health issues. Despite these challenges, he remained committed to his craft and continued to create music until the end. Binzer was found dead in his home on June 24, 2024. No cause of death was given
